April 2016 - January 2018
Optician, Fitting patients in the best choice of lenses and frames. Filing Insurance, Dispensing, Some edging in the lab, Checking in jobs, Helped plan and execute the 2nd annual Trunk Show, Assisted the front desk for about 4 months, updating the displays when new frames arrived, and helped with frame selections with frame reps.
I learned about contacts. But I will admit, I still am not the best at filling for the contacts or the contact fits. I learned a few things in the optical world, such as trial framing and how important that is to keep from remakes.
Was let down on how employee conflict was handled.
Efficient, Comfortable, Modern
The small private practice- family environment. The personal touches given to patients, goody bags. Lunch and Learn and pot lucks. 😉 Best of all was the employees.
Pay. However, In the beginning of my time here, it was adjusting to a supervisor.
Having a rotation of supervisors do the Feedback Friday. It would also give different opinions/feedback given. And it would be a better check and balances.
It is what I expected from an optometrist office. I was disappointed to learn there wasn't a bigger commission for Opticians.
Yes.
Pay was a big reason. Ultimately, I felt that this wasn't the best fit for me.
